I love to knit! I've been knitting since I was about 12 years old. I even remember my first sweater - which my mother had to finish for me, as I got somewhat overwhelmed with counting stitches and fashioning necklines. I worked on it for about a year, ran out of wool and had to buy some more in the end - which resulted in a collar slightly darker than the rest of the sweater, as the colour batch was no longer available. I lost interest after this for a couple of years, then started again - and haven't stopped since. For a few years I didn't buy any knitwear, as I always thought I could make them cheaper and in a nicer colour myself. That's changed by now, of course. My partner and I run a guest house here on the south coast, and that keeps us on our toes. I now knit in the evenings, while watching TV. In my younger years I was even able to read a book while knitting! As long as the storyline was simple, of course.

I have been thinking about running knitting workshops in our guest house, but I have never been involved in teaching knitting or in any business connected with crafts, so I'm not sure where to start. Watch this space - it might still happen!
